Beta Results - 12dp3dt

Thank you soooo much everyone for all the kind wishes!!! I have been able to check my email a little bit while on vacation, and I've enjoyed the happy messages from my IF friends. So, without further stalling....

The 1st Beta results are in!!!

270!!!

Yep, I'm definitely pregnant! :) It is a good healthy number! :)

Bo and I are very excited with the news, and both had a good joyful crying stint this afternoon.
Bo captured my tears of joy on film, until I told him to quit shooting so I could have a good cry.

We are so pleased to have made it this far, but it doesn't feel real yet. I have been holding back my "what ifs" for so long that I haven't let myself feel this is real.

As is customary for BFP bloggers - here's my symptoms list so far:
- daily heartburn
- sore boobs
- mild cramping
- starting to get some weird/vivid sexual dreams (could just be the forced abstinence since 4 days before retrieval!)

We are to go back for Beta # 2 on Thursday, as you know they want to check that the numbers will double appropriately. Assuming everything is still good we will have our next appt on next Thursday for follow-up beta and Throm.boph.ilia blood work. They are going to try and tell me how long they think I will need to be on the Heparin shots.

Personally, I'm fine taking the shots daily for the whole time, as long as it means my baby(ies) will make it to the other side of this long journey healthy and whole.

On the baby vs. babies thing... As you may know, they put back 2 embies, so we are looking forward to knowing if there is one or two babies in there. :) Personally, I'm hoping for two, but I will be perfectly happy with one. My only real goal is for this to work out well.

I heard from my friends that are looking in on my kitty Humphries for me - they say he is doing well and doesn't seem to be in distress. He seems to have fallen in love with one of my throws. I'm OK with that - I know it is just a surrogate for Mommy-love. :)

Hey S&S, I'm working on a playmate for your boy big B!! :) I would have called today with the news, but we are having cell phone limitations at the beach. Hope you read this soon!!! :)

Well guys, I'm going to go back to doing the beachy thing... Hope everyone out there is having a wonderful time this Fourth of July week. I'll be catching up on your blogs when I get back.

3dp3dt & How I'm feeling today....

Today has been a very relaxing day... I woke up around 10:30, lounged in the bed with a very happy Humphries kitty. :) He loves it when I don't have any rushing around to do. He totally takes advantage.

I got out and puttered around my yard, watering my sad plants. The heat and complete lack of water has just zapped them. I have some BEAUTIFUL hydrangeas blooming in my yard, but their poor heads are wilted and they are looking so sad. Hopefully they will perk back up now...

Hubby and I got ourselves together and went to brunch at a local deli. It's a nice place, and they have GREAT freshly made potato salad - mmmm.

After such a workout I was just exhausted, so we came back and I took a long nap on the couch. :) I'm such a bum!!!

Today while I was perusing all your bloggy pages I realized I liked the theme songs some of you were posting on your nav bars. I thought about it carefully, then looked for "my song", the on that has been in the back of my mind since our exctopic in March - "Grieve" by Peter Gabriel.

When I listened to Grieve today I realized that no, actually it doesn't fit anymore. I've just been carrying it with me, without thinking. I've sort-of stopped grieving, I guess. So, I've picked a new song, one that better suits my current thinking. One that says what I would say to someone asking me about IF and where I am... Please, have a listen...

On another note... Monitoring is happening over at Still Passing Open Windows too. I hadn't ever heard that heartburn could be a sign of implantation... Hmmmm... I'm not one for heartburn, but I've been blessed with it now for 3 days. Ugh, I mean YAY!
I've been thinking it was the darned antibiotics they've got me taking. The only other time I have had trouble with heartburn was when I was taking met.aformine and also when I was PG in February. So, I guess I'll let you guys know in a few more days whether it was a good sign, or just drugs, right? :)

Another 2WW Update...

I realized I didn't answer an important question in my last post - WHEN DO I TEST???

Sorry about that... I test this Sunday. I must say, for once I'm not looking forward to it. This cycle is scary because I am nearing the end of my TTC rope, and not sure what happens if I let go of it.

Right now, it looks like hubby and I will go for 2 more rounds of Follistim, at the most. After that we may have another discussion about IVF or we may start looking for a child to adopt. Not sure right now, but we know we are not going to do IF treatments indefinitely.

So, I'm not looking forward to this weekend. I'm not optimistic about it. I think it is just going to be more sadness, maybe more like a letdown.

Sorry for all the Eeyore pessimism, but that's how I feel at the moment.

2WW Update...

Just an update on the 2 week wait...

This morning, as I was stumbling sleepily into the bathroom, hubby said the strangest thing, "When will we know?" I really had NO idea what he meant - I must have been sleep-walking. I mumbled, "wha?" and then caught his meaning... He was surprised I had forgotten that we were in the dreaded 2WW!

I assured him I hadn't forgotten, I was just dead tired...

I haven't noticed anything unusual this cycle, and I'm feeling about normal (other than being tired from travelling). So, nothing to report really. I'm hoping that with all the weirdness I usually have that this is a good sign! :)

I've been catching up on your blogs and crossing my fingers for you guys!

Hang in there!

BFN? Cyst Rupture? BFP? Taking Bets Here!

Well, with all that is going on I couldn't resist... I'm 12 days into my 2ww and I tested this morning... BFN.

Let's just say I was pretty optimistic that I would see two lines with all the boob pain I was having. I think this morning I broke the world-record for toilet-sitting with no reading taking place.

I also realized my boobs had stopped hurting. Can you say "Well, fuck"?
Try it with me ladies 1 --- 2 ----- 3----WELL, FUCK!!!

I called the RE, they asked me to come in tomorrow for a Beta. They said that those kinds of pains/symptoms (other than the boob pain) is probably pointing to a cyst rupturing.

I haven't had a cyst rupture before, and it sounds about right that I would be nauseous. So I'm going with it as a good possibility. They said I could still be pregnant, but a HPT might not register this early on.

I'm not really hopeful at this point, just resolved to try again. Depending on the results I may ask hubby about switching to the big guns - IVF.

I'll let you ladies know as soon as I know something!
