Vampires with Wands II....

Just got back from visiting the Vampire with a Wand....

Thanks for all the well-wishes and tips! I missed the tip, but I will have to try the warm-water trick for my next visit! Thanks!!

It actually went pretty well, all things condisdering! The US was clear, NO CYSTS!!!! WHOOO HOOO!! For a PCOS gal that is HUGE!

The bloodwork was pretty smooth too! It only took two nurses and 4 tries to get the 10 vials filled. Not too bad at all. One of the nurses sucked the blood while the other handed her the vials and labeled the full ones. I'm sure I heard a little "bwhaa haa haa haa ha" with each success... It was like a vampire production line. LOL

Assuming my baseline E2 comes back good I will start stims tomorrow. Our protocol is: Foll.istem 250 AM, Foll.istem 250 PM, Lupron 5, antibiotic for Hubby and me.

I have apointments for blood draws every day starting this Saturday. Does anyone else's RE do that much E2 monitoring??? Starting on Day 3 I have apointments on days 3 & 5 - 11. Most of these visits inlcude both US and bloodwork. I'm interested in what your offices do and how well you think it works...

Oh yeah for the record - I LOVE MY RE NURSES!!!!!!!!!

During my ivf rounds my doc has me in on Day 3,5,7,10,12....then its hcg time. Basically its every Mon, Wed and Fri morning for blood and u.s. until its ovulation time. Its a way for them to really control and change your meds if necessary. My doc has often adjusted my dosages during my cycle depending on how the follies look...or don't look.
Make sure to get some 3/4 length shirts!! Covers up the track marks! :)

For my IVF cycles, I started going in for monitoring after about 3 days of stims. If things looked good, I got to miss a day before the daily routine began. At first it was bloodwork everytime, ultrasound and bloodwork every other time, then after about 7 days of stims it was both every day. Good times. But I'm prone to hyperstimulate, so they tracked my carefully. Not that it helped :)

Yay! So glad the blood draw went smoothly!

Once I hit um, day something, I was going pretty much every day. They skipped one day for me because it was the first day of a two-day Jewish holiday, and more difficult for me to get to the clinic than the 2nd day, but otherwise, yeah - every day.

My RE's office has you come in on day 2 for the clearing scan, start stims on day 3 and then come in everyday from day 6 onwards for blood draws and scans.

Too bad fertility clinics don't have some kind of frequent flyer program - we could all rack up on points or miles pretty quick!

Congrats on no cysts!

Wow--as a fellow PCOSer, I congratulate you on being cyst-free! Good luck, and I second the three-quarter-length sleeves comment...
